Is your website an asset or liability?
This question only applies to those of you wanting to make more money. I imagine that encompasses all legitimate business owners. Herm Edwards former head coach of the New York Jets said it best when he said “you play to win the game!”. That quote leads me to believe that businesses are in business to make money. Correct?
Allow me to throw down the gauntlet and ask you – Are you doing everything you can to insure your business makes money? If you don’t currently have a website or you’re not paying any attention to your website or online marketing then the answer is an emphatic no. That makes your website or online presence a liability!
The days of not having a website that contributes to your overall success are over. It’s 2016 and to say no I don’t have a website or I don’t have a website that helps my business perpetuate my brand is no longer acceptable.
This is a great tragedy. Not only are you leaving profit on the table but your losses are compounding because you haven’t remedied this problem. So not only are you losing potential business to your competitors that do have a website but perhaps you’re even working harder than you should because you’re only using one channel to distribute your message.
Websites are great silent salesmen who are always working on your behalf. 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and 365 days per year. They never sleep, never take sick days and are always available, even when you’re sleeping or your normal business hours have ended.
How great would it be to wake up in the morning and see leads in your email inbox instead of having to bust your ass generating leads, making cold phone calls or scouring the internet for your next client? I’m not trying to be a pin to anyone’s balloon here. I think it’s important you understand what you’re missing by not having an online presence.
I’m sure you’re thinking, well that’s all fine and good but it’s going to require even more work on my part. While that is true, it will require some work on your part, will it be more work than you already do? Do you find yourself answering the same questions over and over again? What if putting your message on your website could educate potential customers about your products or services prior to them contacting you? How much time would that save you? I personally think it’s better to have warm leads straight away than having them contact you directly only to find out they weren’t serious or are asking a question you have already answered one thousand times before.
I think it’s time to stop worrying about potential “additional work” and ask yourself the real question. Can you really afford not to expand or establish your brand with an online presence? Now is the time to create a digital asset that compliments and increases the value of your business, expands your reach and increases brand awareness.
